VIDALIA, GA - Vidalia High School’s class of 2026 earned an average SAT score of 1051, exceeding both the Georgia and national public-school averages and improving on the previous graduating class’s performance.
VHS students scored 20 points above Georgia’s public-school average of 1031 and 40 points above the national public-school average of 1011. The school’s average increased nine points from the class of 2025’s score of 1042.
These results mark the second consecutive year VHS students surpassed the state public-school average. In 2025, Vidalia High School’s average was 13 points higher than Georgia’s average of 1029. The class of 2026 widened that lead to 20 points.
The local achievement comes as Georgia celebrates its ninth consecutive year of exceeding the national public-school SAT average. According to the Georgia Department of Education’s September 29 announcement, the state’s average score increased by two points while participation also grew. Statewide, 59% of the class of 2026 took the SAT during high school, compared with 55% of the class of 2025.
Vidalia High School’s results reflect the hard work of students and the support of teachers, staff, and families as students prepare for opportunities beyond graduation.
With an increase in its average score and a growing lead over the state average, VHS has another reason to celebrate the class of 2026 and its commitment to being Built for More.
